The Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME) is overseen by Neil H. Parker, MD, Senior Associate
Dean for Graduate Medical Education & Student Affairs. The office is dedicated to serving the residency
and fellowship training programs sponsored by the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, at the UCLA and
UCLA Santa Monica Medical Centers
UCLA currently sponsors sixty-four residency and fellowship training programs educating residents in our
affiliated hospitals and numerous community practice locations in Southern California. The ACGME awarded
UCLA a five year institutional accreditation at our previous review. UCLA Medical Center has been recognized
as "Best in the West" by US News & World Report in their annual rankings of the nation's best hospitals for
18 Consecutive years. Additionally, our hospital was rated among the top three in the nation in US News & World
Report 2007 Guide to Best Hospitals.
Responsibilities of the Office of GME include:
- Program Evaluation and Accreditation
- Resident and Fellow Orientation
- Credentialing
- Resident Human Resources
- Oversight and Management of Resident Education
Our mission is to assist and inform residents and fellows and those who are responsible for our trainees.
Our office staff is available to address your questions and concerns. Please feel free to call, email or
drop in. The GME Office is open Monday - Friday from 8:00-5:00. We are located just outside the Cafetaria entrance:
