LIBRARIES — The University Library at UCLA comprises a campuswide network of libraries. Its principal components are the Charles E. Young Research Library (which serves the needs of faculty and graduate students in humanities and social sciences, plus the Graduate School of Education & Information Studies and the School of Public Policy & Social Research) and the College Library (which is used by undergraduates), as well as several subject-specific libraries. The total collections of the UCLA Library number more than 8 million books and 78,000 magazines and academic journals. In addition, the libraries hold collections of manuscripts, oral history transcripts, archives, technical reports, government publications, photographs, maps, audiovisual materials, corporate reports and other scholarly resources. UCLA staff, faculty, and students have access to all libraries in accordance with library regulations. To borrow books or use services, use your UCLA BruinCard.

The total collection includes over 643,095 volumes and 4,400 current journals including 3,500 electronic journals. The UCLA Library Catalog contains information about most books, audiovisuals, microcomputer programs, and all currently received journal titles at all UCLA libraries. It also provides links to electronic resources such as online journals and e-books.
